Dr. Steven Davidowitz, also known as “Dr. D” by his patients, is one of the Upper East Side of NYC Manhattan’s leading cosmetic dentists that specialize in designing and maintaining beautiful smiles.
Dr. D received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the New York University College of Dentistry and completed a general dentistry residency at the Brooklyn Hospital Medical Center.
He did his fellowship training in implant surgery and restorative implant dentistry at New York University and is a fellow in high standing with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Steven lives in Woodmere, NY. He is married to his beautiful wife Shana Davidowitz, WHNP a practicing Nurse Practitioner of Women’s Health at Northwell LIJ. They have two lovely children together, Eli and Lily.

Invisalign and Mod Mouth uses an innovative technology that straightens your teeth by using effective, BPA-free plastic aligner trays, which are clear and virtually invisible. These sleek and comfortable trays are customized according to your unique needs.
At your convenience, you change your tray at home, approximately every two weeks, and you only need to visit our practice about once every six weeks. In most cases, the entire Invisalign straightening process requires just about one year, however, the new Invisalign Express option allows some patients to finish the process in six months at a reduced cost.

How Long Does The Invisalign
Treatment Take?
All patients are different, but in most cases, you can achieve straighter teeth in about 12 months with Invisalign and Mod Mouth alone. However, our office offers additional advanced technologies that allow patients to achieve the same great results in up to 50% less time. With the use of Dr. D’s Propel or Acceledent regimen, you can achieve excellent results in about half the time. In these cases, patients change their aligners every week, rather than every two weeks.
Using SoftPulse Technology, Acceledent emits gentle micropulses through a small hand-held device. These pulses apply a light force through the root of the teeth and into the bone socket. This gentle pulse quickens bone movement and speeds up teeth shifting.
Similarly, Propel stimulates bone movement through micro-osteoperforation. This virtually pain-free treatment can be applied to both NYC Invisalign and traditional metal braces treatments. With Propel, patients can complete their Invisalign treatment in about half the time.
Ideal Candidates For Invisalign
All Invisalign and Mod Mouth patients must meet the following criteria:
- Commit to the treatment. For the best results, aligners must be worn 20 to 22 hours a day, so patients who cannot follow treatment procedures will not benefit from Invisalign and Mod Mouth.
- Have healthy teeth and gums. Patients with periodontal disease or untreated gums are not ideal candidates for Invisalign.
- Have good oral hygiene habits. Patients must thoroughly brush and floss after eating and before putting the aligners back on.
- Must be a non-smoker. Smokers are not eligible for Invisalign, as it interferes with the plastic aligners.
These guidelines are only meant to give you an idea of what constitutes an ideal Invisalign patient and are by no means definite. Each case is unique, and many other factors play into eligibility.
